Advocacy:
Be sure to check Candlelighters' web site (www.candlelighters.org ) for the latest national childhood cancer awareness events.

Child Cancer Tooth Study: The Radiation and Public Health Project's (RPHP) Baby Teeth Study has a special study ongoing to compare average radiation levels in children with cancer to those of healthy children. They are collecting baby teeth from chidren with cancer to test for radiation concentration. They are requesting baby teeth from children who have had radiation in the course of their treatments for cancer. To learn more about this project and how to help by donating a baby tooth, visit the RPHP web site: www.radiation.org/projects

Gardening: Most of us realize that pesticides/herbicides are questionable for those who have sensitivities to toxic things, but did you know that in Nova Scotia more than a year ago a law was passed banning the use of all pesticides within 50 meters of any public facility or school? With our precious children in mind, it might be good to check out how to garden without resorting to toxins. The products on Garden's Alive web site are a good, safe substitute for traditional products. Check
out: www.gardensalive.com.

Tax Tips: For helpful ideas about medical tax deductions, visit our Ask the Experts sections.
